Boutique Manager

    The Boutique Manager is responsible for leading a retail store to achieve high standards of operational excellence, sales performance, and customer experience, while maintaining a premium store image and developing a high-performing team.

     

    This role requires a strong leader with proven experience in luxury retail management, who leads by example, demonstrates integrity and adaptability, and is capable of inspiring teams to deliver outstanding commercial and service results. The successful candidate will display empathy, creativity, problem-solving capability, innovation, accountability, results orientation, and a commitment to sustainable and purpose-driven leadership.

    Key responsibilities 

    1. Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing boutique team to achieve sales objectives and deliver exceptional customer service.

    • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular, constructive feedback to uphold premium retail standards.

    • Identify individual and team development needs and collaborate with training partners to deliver programs that strengthen product knowledge, sales skills, and service excellence.

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement by recognizing and rewarding strong performance.

    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and develop tailored growth plans for team members.

    • Proactively attract, recruit, and retain top retail talent through market networking and active scouting.

    2. Sales & Performance Management

    • Drive store sales performance through strategic planning, target setting, and close coordination with head office support functions to execute initiatives that increase traffic, conversion, and key sales KPIs.

    • Analyze sales and market data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and performance gaps by product category and sales associate.

    • Partner with merchandising teams to ensure optimal stock levels and assortment alignment.

    • Provide recommendations for store improvements, renovations, or upgrades to enhance commercial performance and market positioning.

    3. Customer Experience

    • Ensure the store environment reflects a premium, welcoming, and refined atmosphere aligned with luxury retail standards.

    • Train and coach staff to deliver personalized, attentive, and memorable customer experiences.

    • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

    • Implement best practices in client service, including follow-up communication and relationship-building initiatives, in collaboration with customer relationship teams.

    • Leverage customer feedback to continuously enhance service quality and identify improvement opportunities.

    4. Client Relationship Management

    • Guide sales teams in building and maintaining long-term client relationships by understanding individual customer needs and preferences.

    • Collaborate with client relationship teams to deliver tailored services such as personalized shopping experiences and exclusive offerings.

    • Utilize CRM systems to monitor, manage, and evaluate client development activities and KPIs.

    5. Operational Excellence

    • Oversee daily store operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance with premium retail standards.

    • Manage inventory processes, including ordering, receiving, stock control, and regular audits to avoid shortages or excess stock.

    • Ensure visual merchandising aligns with luxury guidelines and enhances the overall shopping experience.

    • Maintain exceptional standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and organization.

    • Optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and resource utilization.

    • Develop staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage and productivity.

    • Implement risk management and loss prevention measures, including security, safety, invoicing, and payment controls.

    • Hold full profit and loss responsibility for the store.

    • Prepare and submit sales and operational reports in line with company KPIs and governance requirements.

    6. Compliance & Standards

    • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.

    • Address compliance issues promptly and implement corrective actions when required.

    Requirements

    • High integrity, strong attention to detail, open-minded approach, and effective problem-solving skills.

    • Minimum 10 years of experience in luxury retail management, preferably within high-end fashion or premium lifestyle environments.

    • Proven leadership capability with a strong track record of building, motivating, and retaining high-performing teams.

    • Strong commercial mindset and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make sound business decisions.

    • Passion for customer service and delivering exceptional retail experiences.

    • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
