Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor or Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field
    • Strong financial and/or accounting background, proficiency in fundraising, financing, M&A, budget management, and cash flow modelling
    • Experience in project finance and financial modelling of renewable energy project (particularly solar) is required.
    • At least 8-10 years in a similar role, with a minimum of 7 years in management level position
    • Proven track record in investment management.
    • Ability to lead and supervise a diverse investment team in a flexible work environment and can manage remote teams effectively.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
    • CFA license and Business Development skills would be considered of advantage.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Oversee end-to-end process from origination to drawdown, Project Financing, and other financing arrangements. Lead and manage all relationships and partnerships with banks and other financial providers.
    • Develop and implement the overall investment strategy aligned with the company's mission and goals.
    • Identify new investment opportunities, develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate such potential investments.
    • Set long-term strategic financial objectives and investment plan, control company financials, prepare source of funds to enable forecasted growth, manage security and guarantees arrangement where required.
    • Lead, supervise, and mentor the investment team (currently comprising 4 members) for continuous learning and growth development.
    • Address the challenge of maintaining discipline and accountability within the team, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
    • Promote a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
    • Implement and enforce structured processes and workflows to enhance productivity and efficiency in a flexible working environment.
    • Oversee the performance of existing investments and make recommendations for improvements or divestitures.
    • Oversee relationships with all stakeholders, monthly financials, quarterly update, BoD and related meetings, handling all shareholder requests and enquiries.
    • Cultivate potential investors and lead fundraising process, networking, pitching, valuation and contract negotiations, deal closing.
    • Evaluate and approve new projects, evaluate margin and cashflow requirements and prepare additional financing drawdown where required.
    • Analyze financial forecasts, budgets, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports. Track company & project cash flow and profitability to ensure targets are met.
    • Implement cost efficiency, margin enhancement, and growth plans.
    • Oversee corporate strategy, the Company’s portfolio management and risk management; ensuring the investment portfolio is well-diversified and aligned with risk management guidelines.
    • Responsible for the Company’s business plan.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting the clean and renewable energy sector.
