Compliance Manager

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Strategy & Government Relations

• Lead regulatory and trade compliance initiatives to support business operations and ensure full compliance with Vietnamese regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, customs agencies, industry associations, and key external stakeholders.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impact, and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate compliance risks.
• Drive advocacy efforts to protect business interests and influence regulatory developments within the Life Science sector.
• Develop and implement digitalization initiatives, compliance tools, and process automation to improve operational efficiency.

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Operations

• Manage regulatory pathways for Life Science products, ensuring timely product registrations, license renewals, permits, and regulatory approvals.
• Oversee import and export compliance, including licensing requirements, customs documentation, HS code classification, and shipment clearance.
• Ensure compliance with local trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal global compliance standards.
• Coordinate registration, notification, declaration, and reporting activities while maintaining accurate regulatory records.
• Provide compliance guidance for cross-border trade activities and support business continuity through proactive risk management.

Risk Management & Process Excellence

• Conduct regulatory risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for new business initiatives and regulatory changes.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and compliance processes.
• Lead internal compliance monitoring, self-assessments, and reporting activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance regulatory governance and operational effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, and other business functions to ensure seamless regulatory support.
• Represent the company during regulatory inspections, audits, and interactions with government authorities.
• Deliver regulatory training and compliance guidance to internal teams and external customers where required.
• Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory and trade compliance matters across the organization.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Law, International Trade, or a related discipline.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs and Trade Compliance within multinational Life Science, Healthcare, Chemical, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of Vietnam's chemical regulations, hazardous chemical management, import licensing, and trade compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing regulatory approvals, product registrations, customs compliance, and import/export activities.
• Solid understanding of Vietnam's regulatory framework and government agencies relevant to the Life Science industry.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with regulatory authorities and industry associations.
• Experience in regulatory risk assessment, compliance governance, and policy implementation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Power BI and Power Automate is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Fluent in both Vietnamese and English.
