Country Head

    Reports to: GCEO Department Management 

    Job Description 

    The Country Head is a leadership role whose main responsibility is to head and lead the overall operation of Ditrolic Energy in the Philippines. The position will be based out of Manila, Philippines. Overall, the Country Head would be responsible for managing a small to medium team of Business Development, Project, and Operations professionals as the business organically grows. In the short term, the role will be very much focused on developing and growing a project pipeline in the Philippines. The role will suit somebody who has perhaps worked in a Senior Project Development Management/Director role and is looking at stepping into a Country Director role. This position is open to the Philippines only. 

    Duties and responsibilities 

    Strategy, Development, and Implementation 
    • Develop strategic plan and budget needs for development in the target market and continuously drive the completion of strategic milestones that will advance a project through the various stages of development; 
    • Develop, advance, and manage existing or new downstream solar projects including offtake, permitting, interconnection, land, community relations, stakeholder management, and all related budgets; 
    • Lead development efforts for greenfield, co-development, and project acquisitions within targeted markets/sectors; 
    • Manage cross-functional teams including legal, financial, project management, and asset management resources to analyze and close transactions aligned with corporate goals; 
    • Manage all aspects of business and project development and acquisition Leadership and Management 
    • Provide strong, visible, and inspirational leadership to the Philippine team thereby delivering bottom-line business results. 
    • Build a culture of performance and accountability to execute against goals 
    • Oversee the recruitment, development, retention, and engagement of all team members in the Philippines in collaboration with the HR department. 
    • Manage the administration of direct reports through the approval of leave, subsistence, and travel expenses. Finance Management and Operations Oversight 
    • Manage the country's P&L and drive country’s performance 
    • Provide oversight in financial management matters of the country operations, ensuring compliance with the overall company’s procedures and external best practices as well as shareholder’s and regulatory requirements. 
    • Develop and effectively execute the country resource allocation plan including monitoring cash flow to ensure effective cash management. 
    • Oversee all operations in the Philippines including the development of C&I and Utility projects, EHS & Sustainability, etc. to ensure successful completion of projects, protect health and safety, and reduce loss. 
    • Monitor operational risks through the management of a comprehensive risk framework to assess risks and devise risk mitigation plans. Stakeholder Management 
    • Locate, initiate, develop, and execute key partnership initiatives that can assist in distribution, branding, customer acquisition, and scale. 
    • Own and maintain productive relations with all external stakeholders and partnerships (i.e., clients, government, tax authorities, industry organizations, etc.) 
    • Represent the country programs to clients, authorities, partners, and other relevant forums. 
    • Communicate regularly with Group Executives on country operational matters and in the provision of input into high-level strategy. 

    Requirements 
    • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any field, preferably Engineering or Business-related. 
    • At least 3 years of work experience as a Country Head or similar position, preferably in a Power, Telecom, or Renewable Energy company. 
    • Experience in Solar/Hydro/Thermal project management is a plus 
    • Managing a team of 10 or more with various functions (Admin, HR, Legal, Accounting and similar) 
    • Strong GM experience, P&L responsibility, and orientation 
    • Experience in Business and Project Development on a B2B and/or Government basis 
    • Experience in managing budgets and multiple stakeholder contracts 
    • Proven commitment to accountability practices and knowledge of quality assurance systems 
    • Understanding of asset & non-asset-based business models and economics. 
    • Experience with corporate governance and ESG good practices.
