Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze tender documents, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
- Perform detailed and accurate quantity take-offs.
- Develop competitive cost estimates using first principles and current market rates.
- Negotiate rates with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive cost data for tender proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineers and project managers, to ensure estimate accuracy and completeness.
- For the Senior role, mentor junior estimators.
Job Requirements:
- Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in CSA cost estimating within the construction industry. Candidates with more extensive experience will be considered for the Senior position.
- Experience with medium to large-scale projects is essential.
- Experience with industrial projects is desirable.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of cost estimation and tendering for CSA works, including structures, architectural elements, and external works.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Experience with estimating software like Bluebeam or Candy, and design software like AutoCAD/Navisworks is desirable.
