Key Responsibilities
Engineering Strategy & Technology Governance
- Establish the technical roadmap, engineering standards, and governance framework to support the organization’s long-term business and energy development objectives.
Technical Due Diligence & Project Assessment
- Lead engineering feasibility reviews, technology assessments, power generation forecasts, grid connection evaluations, and technical risk analyses.
- Deliver technical recommendations and assessment findings to inform investment decisions and project development strategies.
Power Generation Engineering
- Direct the engineering and design of wind and solar power facilities, overseeing the selection of major equipment and ensuring seamless integration across engineering disciplines and plant systems.
Grid Infrastructure & Connection Engineering
- Oversee the development of power collection networks, substations, transmission lines, and grid interconnection infrastructure.
- Ensure grid solutions provide adequate transmission capacity and enable reliable evacuation of generated electricity.
Power System Studies & Grid Compliance
- Supervise technical studies covering load flow, short-circuit analysis, system stability, power quality, and grid code compliance.
- Translate study findings into practical engineering recommendations and design requirements that support safe and reliable grid integration.
Engineering Optimization & Quality Assurance
- Lead the evaluation and approval of engineering alternatives, managing design modifications to achieve an appropriate balance between capital expenditure, energy yield, safety, and long-term operational performance.
Technical Partner & Contractor Management
- Oversee the technical evaluation, appointment, and performance management of engineering consultants, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
- Coordinate with power utilities and other relevant stakeholders to address technical requirements and ensure effective project alignment.
Project Execution & Technical Support
- Work closely with investment teams, project management functions, and operations personnel to resolve engineering issues arising during construction, commissioning, acceptance testing, and operational handover.
Engineering Division Leadership
- Lead the division’s organizational planning, budget management, resource allocation, and succession development.
- Take overall accountability for engineering delivery, technical standards, schedule adherence, and the division’s operational performance.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 15 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained within Vietnamese power engineering consultancies or international companies operating in the energy sector. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing large-scale project portfolios is highly desirable.
- Extensive technical expertise in wind and solar energy, with a strong understanding of generation facility design, grid infrastructure, power system analysis, and grid interconnection requirements.
- Proven ability to conduct technology evaluations, assess engineering risks, and develop optimized technical solutions that support investment returns and project viability.
- Strong strategic thinking, sound decision-making, organizational leadership, and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with domestic and international partners.
- Good command of English and willingness to travel as required. Experience delivering international energy projects is an advantage.
