Deputy General Director (Renewable energy)

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Project Operations & Management

    • Organize, coordinate, and oversee the overall implementation of the company’s EPC / turnkey projects.
    • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the committed schedule, quality standards, budget, and technical specifications agreed with the project owners.
    • Coordinate with internal departments, including engineering, procurement, construction, project management, and commissioning teams, to ensure effective collaboration during project execution.
    • Monitor project progress and promptly address any issues arising during project implementation.

    Project Portfolio & Performance Management

    • Oversee and manage the company’s portfolio of ongoing projects.
    • Monitor key project performance indicators, including cost, schedule, productivity, risk, and profitability.
    • Establish and maintain project management reporting systems for the Board of Management and Board of Directors.
    • Propose solutions to improve project management efficiency and cost optimization.

    Technical & Energy Project Management

    • Lead technical activities related to engineering design, technology selection, and construction solutions for energy projects.
    • Collaborate with technology partners, equipment suppliers, and technical consultants both domestically and internationally.
    • Ensure technical solutions comply with environmental standards, safety regulations, and operational performance requirements, particularly for Waste to Energy (WTE) power plant projects.
    • Participate in evaluating and approving key technical solutions for projects.

    Contractor, Partner & Supply Chain Management

    • Supervise the selection, evaluation, and management of subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
    • Participate in negotiations for major contracts related to EPC, technology equipment, and construction works.
    • Ensure contractors and partners fulfill contractual obligations in line with project technical requirements and schedule.

    Risk, Safety & Compliance Management

    • Direct the development and implementation of occupational health & safety, environmental, and quality management systems for projects.
    • Monitor compliance with legal regulations, technical standards, and regulatory authority requirements.
    • Identify, evaluate, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.

    Business Development & Tender Support

    • Participate in evaluating the technical feasibility and implementation plans for new projects.
    • Support the business development team in preparing tender documents, technical proposals, and project execution plans.
    • Engage with investors, strategic partners, and financial institutions when required.

    Team Management & Development

    • Build and develop the project management, engineering, and operations teams.
    • Establish performance management systems for departments under supervision.
    • Enhance the technical and managerial capabilities of project personnel.

    External Relations & Stakeholder Management

    • Represent the company in working with project owners, technology partners, main contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders during project implementation.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities, local administrations, and relevant organizations involved in energy project development.
    • Participate in negotiations and discussions with partners to resolve key project matters and ensure project progress.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Management in maintaining the company’s reputation and brand within the energy industry.
    • Support the handling of external issues related to community relations, environmental concerns, and local authorities, particularly for Waste to Energy projects.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields.
    • Candidates with postgraduate degrees or professional certifications in project management, construction management, or EPC project management are preferred.

    Experience

    • Proven experience in management or leadership roles within construction, EPC contracting, or energy project development.
    • Hands-on experience managing or overseeing large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
    • Experience working with project owners, contractors, technology partners, and regulatory authorities.

    Skills

    • Strong leadership, organizational, and coordination skills for project execution.
    • Ability to manage schedule, cost, quality, and risk throughout project implementation.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strategic thinking with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities in a complex project environment.
