The Deputy General Manager (GM) plays a pivotal role in driving and maintaining the organization's profitable growth. This leadership position involves assisting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and implementing business strategies.
Key responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Assisting the General Manager in leading daily operations and implementing business strategies.
- Business Planning: Developing and managing country business plans to enhance profitability and meet regional/corporate expectations.
- Customer Relationship Management: Structuring, building, and enhancing customer relationships to maximize satisfaction and profitability.
- Pallet Pooling Initiatives: Driving pallet pooling by collaborating with customers and industry stakeholders.
- Data Management and Reconciliation: Ensuring timely customer equipment transfer data entry, administration, and reconciliation processes, as well as receivables collections.
- Resource Optimization: Driving productivity to maximize resource utilization, planning, leading, managing, and monitoring resources on a day-to-day basis.
- Cost Control and Strategic Focus: Controlling costs and maintaining a focus on strategic initiatives, including customers, new products, and market opportunities.
- Performance Management: Setting performance and personal development plans for direct reports and monitoring on a 6 and 12-month basis.
- Team Communication and Culture: Communicating initiatives to the country team comprising Sales & Customer Service, Operations & Finance in a way that produces positive outcomes, and effectively fosters a culture of teamwork across the workforce.
- Quality Standards Compliance: Achieving applicable quality standards.
- Procurement Management: Managing the procurement process to ensure quality products and services are purchased at reasonable costs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring local operations comply with internal policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, as well as external laws and regulations, including environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Health and Safety Adherence: Complying with Occupational Health and Safety policies and ensuring a safe and healthy environment in the workplace at all times.
This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and strong leadership skills to effectively manage and grow business operations.
