Key Responsibilities

Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the ingestion of new data into the Datalake and ensure seamless data serving through robust consumption frameworks.

Solution Architecture: Design, build, and operationalize innovative data solutions to support current business needs and enable new product development.

System Integrity: Deeply understand Datalake and Data Warehouse architectures to ensure solutions incorporate essential non-functional requirements (security, reliability, performance).

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of experienced data professionals, overseeing hiring, interviewing, and the development of a "Center of Excellence."

Cross-functional Orchestration: Ensure smooth integration across teams, managing code hand-offs and schedules to meet strict business timelines.

Innovation & Advocacy: Lead Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives, assist in partner presentations, and champion best practices, documentation, and reusable assets.
Requirements
Professional Experience:
-
15+ years of total experience, with a significant career focus on the Data Engineering space.

Extensive background in data modeling and designing both streaming and batch ETL pipelines.

Proven track record of leading large teams and collaborating with external partners to deliver complex data products.

Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Top-tier Consulting is highly advantageous.
Technical Competencies:

Architecture: Proficiency in distributed architecture and a solid understanding of the required infrastructure setups.

Programming: Strong proficiency in Scala, Python, or Java.
-
Distributed Computing: Deep understanding of distributed databases and computing frameworks.

Data Tools: Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, Presto, Hive, Cassandra, and Databricks.

Cloud Platforms: Practical experience working on GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Databases: Expertise in both SQL and NoSQL environments.
Soft Skills:

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical roadmaps to C-suite executives.

Superior multitasking and prioritization skills, capable of managing numerous concurrent high-stakes requests.
