Director of Digital Technology Operations

    Overview

    This role leads the Vietnam Digital Technology Offshore Delivery Center (ODC), with overall accountability for organizational capability building, talent development, and operational excellence. The position supports global Digital Technology objectives through strong functional alignment while enabling effective local leadership across people management, capacity planning, and innovation.

    Operating within a matrix organization, the role balances global product and functional priorities with Vietnam-specific execution, delivery accountability, and people leadership.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategy & Global Alignment

    • Translate global digital and technology strategies into executable plans for Vietnam, ensuring alignment across software development, quality assurance, IT operations, and innovation functions.

    • Partner with global product and functional leaders to define Vietnam’s role in service delivery, including ownership, scope, and value contribution.

    • Represent Vietnam capabilities in global governance forums, ensuring compliance with architecture, security, and delivery standards.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Act as the primary contact for strategic planning related to the Vietnam digital technology organization, working closely with both global and local stakeholders.

    • Manage stakeholder expectations, particularly in response to changes in scope, priorities, or delivery requirements.

    • Ensure effective communication, coordination, and alignment between delivery teams and stakeholders.

    Leadership & People Development

    • Lead people-related initiatives in collaboration with HR leadership, including performance management, career development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

    • Build and sustain a high-performing organization with clear competency frameworks and career pathways across engineering, QA, and operations.

    • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation through communities of practice, training programs, and mentorship initiatives.

    Capacity Planning & Resource Management

    • Own workforce and capacity planning to meet global demand while optimizing local talent utilization.

    • Collaborate with global stakeholders to forecast resource needs and align hiring, onboarding, and development plans.

    • Ensure transparent governance and reporting on resource allocation, utilization, and productivity.

    • Develop partnerships with universities, vendors, and research organizations to strengthen technical capabilities.

    Delivery Enablement & Operational Excellence

    • Ensure teams operate with standardized processes, tools, and performance metrics across development, QA, and operations.

    • Drive continuous improvement across delivery KPIs, including lead time, deployment frequency, quality, and incident resolution.

    • Oversee local execution of CI/CD practices, release governance, and observability in coordination with global teams.

    • Lead local initiatives to improve operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance through technology.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum 10 years of experience in software product development or related fields, with demonstrated leadership capability.

    • Proven experience at Department Head, Division Head, or Director level, ideally within offshore delivery or large-scale software organizations.

    • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, processes, and industry best practices.

    • Solid experience managing offshore delivery centers or large, multi-disciplinary technology teams.

    • Excellent strategic planning, operational management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    • Strong awareness of technology trends and emerging digital solutions.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.

    • Demonstrated leadership behaviors aligned with strong ethical standards and people-centric values.
