Export Import Manager

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage and oversee all import and export operations while leading and developing the Import Export team.

    Team Management & Operations

    • Lead, train, evaluate, and develop team members to enhance overall performance and capabilities.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on import export activities, logistics costs, and on time delivery performance for Management.
    • Analyze operational delays and cost overruns, and propose improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce logistics costs, and improve operational efficiency.
    • Assign tasks and provide professional guidance to team members.
    • Establish, standardize, and continuously improve internal and cross functional working procedures.

    Import Export Documentation Management

    • Review and manage all import export documentation, including:
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Customs Declarations
    • Invoices and Packing Lists
    • Bills of Lading (B/L) and Air Waybills (AWB)
    • Certificates of Origin (C/O)

    Customs & Regulatory Compliance

    • Handle issues arising during customs clearance, including shipment delays, missing documents, HS code discrepancies, cargo inspections, and incorrect duty assessments.
    • Directly manage or coordinate customs declaration activities with customs brokerage agencies.
    • Support post clearance audits and liaise with customs authorities when required.

    Regulatory Updates & Business Advisory

    • Keep abreast of government regulations, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), preferential tariff schemes, customs procedures, and import export tax policies.
    • Advise Management on cost optimization opportunities and compliance strategies to minimize legal and operational risks.

    Requirements

    • 10 to 15 years of experience in a similar Import Export Management position.
    • Good command of English, with the ability to communicate effectively in a business environment.
    • Strong computer literacy and willingness to travel to manufacturing sites when required (company transportation provided).
    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the garment industry, particularly in processing trade and export manufacturing operations.
    • Well-established relationships with customs authorities and shipping lines are highly preferred.
    • Solid understanding of Incoterms and trade terms, including FOB, DDP, and LDP.
