Job Summary:
Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Legal to oversee all legal matters at their manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring the factory's operations comply with local laws and regulations, handling contracts, managing disputes, and acting as the key legal liaison between the factory and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the factory complies with all applicable laws and regulations (labor law, environmental law, fire safety, health & safety, etc.)
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to procurement, labor, leasing, service providers, and other commercial activities
- Advise factory management on legal risks, compliance issues, and mitigation strategies
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including labor disputes and regulatory inspections
- Work closely with HR and Compliance teams to manage labor relations and workplace policies
- Liaise with external counsel, government authorities, and legal institutions as needed
- Monitor and interpret changes in relevant laws and regulations, and advise on implications
- Conduct internal training on legal and compliance-related topics
- Maintain accurate records of legal documents, permits, and correspondence
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law; lawyer’s license preferred
- Proven legal experience, with at least 2 years in a similar position (preferably in a manufacturing/factory environment)
- Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good command of English (spoken and written), Mandarin Chinese is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in foreign-invested companies or multinational environments
- Familiarity with legal compliance audits and due diligence processes
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
