Job Summary
Lead TCS Production and Chlorosilane Purification Technology in Polysilicon Production, driving innovation and cost/performance roadmaps for short- and long-term competitive advantage.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Accountable for the front-end technology of polysilicon production, involving TCS/chlorosilane production, chlorosilane separation and purification, and chlorosilane recycle from the CVD reactors, with 100% ownership.
- Build Chlorosilane Technology and R&D team from ground up. Attract, retain, and develop talent in the Technology organization. Train the organization and develop necessary skill sets.
- Lead Technology component of Basic Engineering and Detail Engineering for the TCS production, purification, and CVD Off-Gas Revery (OGR) areas.
- Develop and implement vision for the chlorosilane Technology and R&D. This vision must be broad, not limited to Siemens Technology or any one Technology platform.
- Develop and deploy a chlorosilane technology strategy and roadmap for the solar sector that delivers profitable growth and market penetration.
- Drive the culture of ownership and accountability in formulating and implementing the technology plans.
- Understand risks and benefits of each project and create a value optimised portfolio of projects for development.
- Develop a culture of external awareness to drive internal innovation.
- Manage and build key relationships with key research centres, academic institutes, and reputed laboratories in the polysilicon sector.
- Assess, analyse, and adapt new technology platforms in the sector that could further enhance Reliance’s competitive advantage.
Basic Qualifications
- A Master of Science (M.S.) or Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Engineering or Science.
- Over 15 years of experience in chlorosilane technology on the Siemens platform or related technologies, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the polysilicon sector, is referred. However, experience is more important than just expertise.
- Deep experience and competence in chlorosilane production and purification on the Siemens polysilicon technology platform.
- A thorough understanding of complementary unit operations such as deposition of polysilicon in the CVD reactors, product handling, and slim rod preparation. Familiarity with analytical methods to ensure quality.
- Experience in leading chlorosilane equipment and auxiliary equipment design and modifications, quantitative new process development, technology transfer to HVM, and process simulations.
- Ability to deliver commercialisation from concepts. Develop processes and technologies and provide complete turnkey solution.
- Ability to learn and lead. Assess risk and develop risk adjusted development plans
- Quantify commercial value to drive decisions. Tenacity to deliver difficult projects and judgment to terminate unproductive projects.
- Excellent leadership skills coupled with a strong commercial awareness that will impact and influence the performance and effectiveness.
- General understanding of the Renewable Energy domain to make proper decisions within a larger energy ecosystem.
- Basic knowledge of various New Energy technologies.
