Job Summary
Lead Siemens CVD technology development, including evolutionary and revolutionary innovations, and create a cost and performance roadmap. Develop new CVD platforms for a competitive edge.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Accountable for a comprehensive Siemens CVD, product handling, and slim rod preparation technology with 100% ownership.
- Build Siemens CVD, product handling, and slim rod preparation Technology and R&D team from ground up. Attract, retain, and develop talent in the Technology organization. Train the organization and develop necessary skill sets.
- Lead Technology component of Basic Engineering and Detail Engineering for the CVD reactors, product handling, and slim rod preparation areas.
- Develop and implement vision for the CVD Technology and R&D. This vision must be broad, not limited to Siemens Technology or any one Technology platform.
- Develop and deploy a CVD and competing technology strategy and Roadmap for the solar sector that delivers profitable growth and market penetration.
- Drive the culture of ownership and accountability in formulating and implementing the technology plans. VP of CVD Technology should organize the resources and drive the innovations impacting the top line and bottom line on both short-term and long-term basis.
- Understand risks and benefits of each project and create a value optimized portfolio of projects for development.
- Develop a culture of external awareness to drive internal innovation. Manage and build key relationships with key research centers, academic institutes, and reputed laboratories in the polysilicon sector.
- Introduce new approaches to technology development that will significantly impact growth. Assess, analyze, and adapt new technology platforms in the sector that could further enhance Reliance’s competitive advantage.
Basic Qualifications
- Deep experience and competence in Siemens CVD reactors and polysilicon technology.
- A thorough understanding of complementary unit operations such as hydrochlorination to produce TCS, and all chemical and mechanical unit operations required to produce high purity polysilicon. Familiarity with analytical methods to ensure quality.
- Experience in leading CVD reactor and auxiliary equipment design and modifications, quantitative new process development, technology transfer to HVM, and process simulations.
- Ability to deliver commercialization from concepts. Develop processes and technologies and provide complete turnkey solution.
- Ability to learn and lead. Assess risk and develop risk adjusted development plans
- Quantify commercial value to drive decisions. Tenacity to deliver difficult projects and judgment to terminate unproductive projects.
- Excellent leadership skills coupled with a strong commercial awareness that will impact and influence the performance and effectiveness
- General understanding of the Renewable Energy domain to make proper decisions within a larger energy ecosystem.
- Basic knowledge of various New Energy technologies.
