    Our client is a global leader in the defence and aerospace industry, offering world-class solutions to customers across various international markets. They are looking for a local expert to join our team as the Lead - International Business Development. This position will involve driving business growth and market expansion in the designated regions.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develop and execute strategies to expand the company’s presence in the region’s market, particularly in the defence and aerospace sectors.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the region, securing contracts and partnerships with government entities, defence contractors, and key stakeholders.
    • Manage relationships with local clients, government agencies, and partners to ensure long-term business success in the region.
    • Drive business development efforts by aligning local market trends with the company’s international strategy, focusing on areas of growth and profitability.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and RFPs for defence and aerospace projects across the region.
    • Monitor and analyze geopolitical trends, market developments, and competitor activities within the region’s defence sector to identify potential business opportunities.
    • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and defence industry standards when conducting business in the region.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and marketing, to tailor business strategies for the region.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to the regional business development team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving business goals.
    • Represent the company at local and regional industry events, trade shows, and meetings to promote business development initiatives in the region.

    Basic Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
    • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in business development, particularly in the region market, especially within the defence or aerospace sector, is essential.
    • A proven track record of driving business growth and securing substantial contracts in the region is highly valued.
    • A strong understanding of local market dynamics, geopolitical factors, and regulatory requirements in the defence and aerospace industries is crucial.
    • Experience in negotiating and managing intricate contracts with local clients, governments, and defence organizations in the mentioned region is highly desirable.
    • Fluency in local languages, along with English or French, is highly preferred.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships, are essential.
    • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and developing market strategies tailored to the region is also important.
    • Knowledge of export regulations, international trade laws, and compliance protocols related to defence products is a must.
