MEP Lead

    Role Description

    You are considered an Engineering Lead with an expert level of experience & exposure to the AEC industry. Your advanced knowledge of MEP is based on both theoretical & practical knowledge, gained through
    many years of experience. Knowledge across multiple disciplines of HVAC, Sanitary or Electrical will allow you to perform your role to an advanced professional level, understanding the working environment. Your people-management skills are second-to-none & the ability to manage a team of MEP Modellers comes second nature to you.

    Job Responsibilities

    In this position your responsibilities relating to Hard Skills should be aligned to the following:

    • Hard Skills from all previous levels; Junior through to Senior MEP Modeller must have been successfully achieved so that you are able to undertake this role &/or position.
    • Successfully achieved accreditation in the work-flow & undertaking of Scrum - The level of Scrum Master is required.
    • The professional use of the English language is critical in your career, both written & verbal forms will be assessed formally; Productive (speaking & writing) & Passive (listening & reading). The level of achievement is based on the GSE (Global Scale of English) rating system.
    • This Technical level requires you to have achieved a score of 85 points & a rating of C2 (or equivalent.)

    Soft Skills: Time Management, Emotional Intelligence, Continuous Learning, Adaptability, Collaboration & Teamwork, Resilience & Curiousity, Coaching Mindset, Project Management, Creativity, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving.

    Other Skills:

    • The ability to manage up to (10) MEP Modellers of all experience levels.
    • Effectively manage those who report to you.
    • Proactive in dealing with team member issues & challenges.
    • Chair regular meetings of all those who report to you in order to maintain job satisfaction & keep in regular communication with them all.
    • Undertake quarterly performance reviews & appraisals, in accordance with company policies.
    • Provide feedback on other team members who you work with or temporarily manage, but not necessarily directly report to you.
    • Report any & all challenges or issues that may arise in the area of managing staff to the Operations Director.
    • Ensure that all your Team members have the required training & knowledge to undertake their roles & responsibilities.

    Job Requirements 

    • Recognised University Degree in MEP | HVAC, Sanitary or Electrical Engineering with many years’ post graduate experience.
    • Practical & theoretical knowledge is assumed for this Technical Level, with real-world work-related experience undertaken.
    • A core understanding of the built environment is assumed, with specific specialised university-level knowledge of your major discipline, plus work-knowledge based on your previous work exposure.
    • Fluent in English
    • Direct instructions & communication with your Direct Line Management must be maintained.
    • Communication with other departments (HR, IT, etc.) must be respected & you are to follow the correct process & procedures when communicating with these departments.
