Purpose of the role
- Oversee and manage the operations of plants and terminals in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Monitor and continuously improve HSSE performance across all terminals.
- Ensure operational standards are aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Manage terminal operations, including HSE, procurement planning, production, inventory control, maintenance and workforce planning.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and operational guidelines across all terminals.
- Lead and implement HSE/HSSE processes and standards across terminal operations.
- Manage Terminal Managers and oversee terminal performance, including fuel consumption and material usage.
- Ensure terminal operations comply with company standards, regulations and applicable requirements.
- Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and support business objectives.
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance & Accounting and HR to recommend workforce allocation and rotation across terminals.
- Monitor terminal operations and ensure performance meets approved KPIs.
- Manage new terminal projects, construction and major maintenance activities.
- Recommend contractors for repair, replacement, maintenance and construction works, ensuring quality, cost efficiency and timely execution.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, shipping agents and relevant authorities to ensure smooth operations and product replenishment.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure timely delivery and meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales teams on weekly and monthly forecasts to support production and supply planning across terminals.
- Monitor inventory levels of finished products, raw materials and oils, and implement measures to minimize inventory gains/losses.
- Oversee project execution and major repair works carried out by external contractors, ensuring progress, schedules and HSE requirements are fully met.
- Monitor contractor and terminal staff compliance with safety requirements and regularly report project progress to the Board of Management.
- Implement and manage incentive schemes to improve terminal operational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management; experience in Logistics, Planning or Supply Chain is an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage terminal operations and HSSE effectively.
- Strong understanding of business objectives and the ability to translate company strategy into operational execution.
- Good communication, presentation, negotiation and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental management systems.
- Willingness to travel for business.
- Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork and commitment.
- Proficient in computer applications with good English communication skills.
