Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor plant staff, focusing on talent acquisition, retention, and development.
- Prioritize safety, food safety, quality, and customer service while minimizing costs.
- Deliver high-quality food products.
- Work collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Continuously improve the plant's value to the company.
- Track performance using scorecards and metrics to meet production goals.
- Use data analysis to identify and implement improvements for quality and production.
- Make informed decisions about production methods and material handling.
- Stay updated on new technology and regulations.
- Ensure plant sanitation to maintain Global Food Safety Initiatives certification.
- Collaborate with Finance to create and adhere to the annual budget.
- Partner with Engineering to implement new products, programs, and equipment.
- Develop labor strategies aligned with business needs.
- Balance day-to-day management with long-term planning.
- Set clear performance expectations for all team members.
- Handle additional tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Food Processing, Engineering, Food Science, or Business Administration.
- Ten years of progressive manufacturing management experience, including lean manufacturing or TPM, is necessary.
- Proven experience effectively managing and training teams is a must.
- Prior experience managing budgets and financial data related to production is required.
- Strong planning and general management skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general computer skills are needed.
- The ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple demands, and collaborate in a team environment is crucial.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
