Plant Process Engineering Expert

    Overview

    The Lead – Plant Process Engineering (Stationary Cell) will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure stable, efficient, and scalable processes for stationary cell production. This role focuses on continuous process improvement, yield optimization, and cost reduction for high-volume LFP cell manufacturing lines.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develop and refine manufacturing processes for stationary cells, including electrode fabrication, cell assembly, and finishing.
    • Optimize process parameters to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality while reducing scrap and utility consumption.
    • Implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues to enhance production performance.
    • Monitor and control process variables to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Analyze production data to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related defects.
    • Drive new process adoption for new products and supplier qualifications.
    • Collaborate with Equipment Engineering to implement advanced technologies for process capability enhancement.
    • Work with R&D for integration of new materials and processes.
    • Support smooth transition from pilot to full-scale manufacturing and capacity expansions.
    • Ensure adherence to EHS regulations and industry standards.
    • Maintain detailed records of process parameters and changes.
    • Prepare technical reports and presentations for leadership reviews.
    • Mentor junior engineers and build technical capability within the team.

    Basic Qualifications

    • B.Tech. in Chemical/Mechanical; M.Tech/PhD in Manufacturing/Production or Electrochemistry preferred
    • 12–18 years in precision manufacturing processes requiring strict quality control (Li-ion cells, semiconductors, solar, etc.).
    • Minimum 5 years in process engineering for Lithium cell manufacturing; LFP chemistry preferred.

    • Knowledge of lithium cell chemistry and manufacturing processes.
