Principal Backend Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the selection of technologies and architectural decisions for a rapidly scaling system and organization
    • Develop backend applications with a focus on long-term operational stability and maintainability
    • Define and execute technology strategies aligned with business goals, while providing technical leadership across the development team
    • Gather system requirements and conduct domain modeling to ensure clarity and feasibility
    • Design backend system architecture that supports scalability, reliability, and performance
    • Actively participate in backend system development, including unit testing and documentation
    • Implement clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to software development best practices
    • Participate in code reviews and help improve development processes through constructive feedback and collaboration

    Job Requirements:

    • 8+ years of hands-on experience building backend systems for web applications
    • Proven experience in technology evaluation, requirements analysis, architectural design, and infrastructure setup for development teams or multi-project environments
    • Strong problem-solving skills, especially in resolving technical, product, or process-related challenges
    • Proficient in backend development using statically typed languages and frameworks
    • Comfortable working in a Docker-native development environment
    • Strong English communication skills (CEFR B1 or higher), capable of handling daily communication and meetings in English

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications

    • Experience designing and developing large-scale systems across multiple teams
    • Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) principles
    • Practical experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
    • Background in languages with strong static typing and functional paradigms (e.g., Rust, Scala)
    • Basic knowledge of frontend frameworks and libraries such as React.js or Next.js
    • Experience in building and managing microservices architectures
    • Understanding of secure web application development practices
    • Japanese language proficiency at a business level

    Interview Process:

    • R1: Technical assignment (online coding test)
    • R2: Online English speaking + writing sample test
    • R3: Technical interview (with Peer and Tech Lead)
    • R4: Final interview (with CTO)

    Salary range: Up to VND 120,000,000
