Key Responsibilities
Workshop Establishment & Operation
- Set up and manage the pump overhaul workshop, including facility layout, equipment planning, safety procedures, and workflow management.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for pump inspection, dismantling, repair, assembly, testing, and documentation.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report work performance and operational results.
- Ensure the workshop is fully prepared to meet pump maintenance service contract requirements.
- Participate in estimating workload and manpower requirements for workshop services and related field activities.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Technical Leadership
- Lead maintenance and repair activities including emergency, routine, and scheduled maintenance for pumps and related systems according to company service scope.
- Take technical responsibility for pump maintenance and overhaul, including centrifugal pumps, rotary pumps, and dosing or metering pumps.
- Diagnose pump failures, determine repair scope, and supervise technicians during overhaul processes.
- Ensure repair quality and compliance with OEM standards or other approved equivalent specifications.
- Collaborate with OEM engineers when required for knowledge transfer and to enhance service capability.
Team Building & Competency Development
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of pump maintenance technicians.
- Develop structured training programs covering pump fundamentals, troubleshooting, safety practices, equivalent spare part application, and technical documentation.
- Build and promote a performance driven and safety oriented workshop culture.
Commercial & Customer Interface
- Support sales and customer teams with technical input, quotations, scope definition, and cost estimation.
- Communicate directly with customer technical teams to clarify job scope, service schedules, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure transparency in job costing, including man hour tracking and consumables monitoring in accordance with company regulations.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Work closely with the procurement team to define required spare parts, common components, and consumables for workshop operations.
- Manage workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance assets, ensuring proper usage, safety compliance, and technical supervision during service execution.
- Coordinate with OEM partners to verify specifications for equivalent spare parts and ensure quality control.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure full traceability of materials.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare service reports, test resunon-conformancemance reports, inspection records, photos, and quality documentation for each project.
- Monitor and report workshop KPIs, including turnaround time, quality issues, rework rates, and cost variance.
Job Requirements
Technical Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7+ years’ experience in pump maintenance/overhaul in power, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
- Hands-on experience working with centrifugal pumps is mandatory.
- Experience with dosing or metering pumps such as Prominent or equivalent brands is a strong advantage.
Managerial & Commercial Competencies
- Proven experience managing a workshop or technical maintenance team.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation, job costing, planning, and resource allocation.
- Ability to balance technical quality requirements with commercial efficiency.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
- Proactive attitude with strong problem solving capability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and commercial departments.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership in work.
