Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement annual, quarterly, and monthly business strategies for the Chemicals division to achieve targets related to revenue, sales volume, gross profit, and margins.
- Drive business expansion for assigned chemical segments such as Fine Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Solvents, or other strategic product categories aligned with the company’s growth direction.
- Oversee both upstream sourcing and downstream sales activities to ensure stable supply, strengthen market presence, and support long term business growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, including negotiating pricing, commercial terms, MOQ, lead times, payment conditions, and other key agreements.
- Identify and develop new clients and key accounts, particularly focusing on B2B sales with factories, manufacturers, and industrial partners.
- Manage the complete commercial process, including market analysis, customer acquisition, pipeline development, sales forecasting, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Establish effective commercial strategies for product portfolios, covering pricing structures, product positioning, market expansion, and margin optimization.
- Track market developments such as supply and demand trends, price movements, competitor activities, and regulatory updates to support strategic decision making.
- Review and manage commercial contracts to ensure compliance, proper risk management, and alignment with company policies.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Logistics teams to coordinate supply planning, delivery schedules, and inventory management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sourcing and sales teams by setting KPIs, monitoring performance, and strengthening team capabilities.
- Take ownership of the division’s P&L and ensure financial performance aligns with business objectives.
- Provide regular business updates to senior leadership on performance, market insights, potential risks, and strategic plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior commercial leadership role such as Sales Director, Business Director, or Head of Business within the chemical trading industry.
- Practical experience in both chemical sourcing or procurement and B2B sales.
- Demonstrated success in developing business relationships with factories, manufacturers, or industrial clients.
- Solid expertise in chemical segments such as Fine Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Solvents, or similar trading portfolios.
- Strong capabilities in business planning, market development, commercial execution, and profit growth.
- Experience in contract management, commercial risk control, and regulatory compliance is advantageous.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing, coaching, and developing commercial teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision making abilities.
- Fluent English communication skills.
