Role Summary:
EV's Client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the data team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving essential data services and infrastructure that support the company's operations. With a minimum of 8 years of experience, you will work collaboratively with other teams to ensure data availability for key business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Data Infrastructure: Design, maintain, and enhance data systems (lakes, databases, pipelines) for accurate and timely insights.
- Collaboration: Partner with data science and product teams to design schemas, integrate sources, and implement new data technologies.
- Data Processing: Develop and optimize large-scale data processing for batch and real-time needs.
- Workflow Management: Use tools like Apache Airflow and AWS Batch for efficient data processing.
- Quality Assurance: Implement thorough testing to ensure reliability and usability of data systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with new technologies and best practices to improve development.
Requirements:
- Technical: Strong in Unix, distributed/cloud computing, Python (pandas, pyspark), version control (git), and workflow tools (Airflow).
- Databases: Experienced with columnar and big data databases like Athena, Redshift, Vertica, and Hive/Hadoop.
- Cloud: Familiar with AWS or similar cloud services (Glue, EMR, EC2, S3, Lambda).
- Containers: Experienced with Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
- CI/CD: Knowledgeable in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or AWS CodePipeline.
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Languages: Familiar with JVM languages (Java, Scala).
- Databases: Experienced with RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis).
- BI Tools: Exposed to enterprise BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI).
- Data Science: Understanding of environments like AWS Sagemaker or Databricks.
- Monitoring: Knowledgeable in log ingestion and monitoring tools (ELK stack, Datadog).
- Data Privacy: Understanding of data privacy and security tools and concepts.
- Messaging: Familiar with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
