Key Responsibilities
1. AI Governance Framework Design & Maintenance

Design, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive AI governance framework aligned with Vietnam’s regulatory environment (including personal data protection regulations, upcoming data-related legislation, and digital technology laws) as well as recognized international standards.

Ensure alignment between AI governance practices and existing enterprise data governance structures and data strategies.

Promote and embed responsible AI principles such as fairness, ethical use, transparency, explainability, and accountability across AI initiatives.
2. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance

Partner with legal, risk, compliance, and information security teams to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks associated with AI and machine learning solutions.

Ensure AI systems are designed, deployed, and operated in compliance with internal risk policies and evolving regulatory expectations.

Monitor and interpret domestic and international regulatory developments related to AI, data protection, and emerging technologies.
3. AI Lifecycle Governance & Oversight

Establish governance controls and approval checkpoints throughout the AI lifecycle, from use case intake and model development to validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.

Work closely with model risk, data science, and business stakeholders to embed responsible AI practices into model documentation, data lineage, auditability, and decision traceability.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building

Lead cross-functional training sessions and workshops to increase awareness of AI governance requirements and ethical AI principles across the organization.

Act as a subject matter expert for internal data and AI governance forums, providing guidance on AI-related risks, regulatory implications, and mitigation approaches.

Engage with external regulators, industry bodies, and professional networks to contribute to and stay informed on responsible AI practices within Vietnam.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Law, Risk Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in data governance, AI/ML governance, model risk management, or closely related roles, ideally within financial services or other regulated industries.

Strong knowledge of Vietnam’s data protection and AI regulatory landscape, with familiarity in global AI governance standards and frameworks (e.g. OECD principles, ISO/IEC standards, EU AI regulations).

Proven experience working in cross-functional environments, with strong communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
Preferred Skills

Practical experience with model governance solutions, data cataloging platforms, or AI lifecycle management tools.

Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to evaluate complex AI/ML models from a governance, risk, and compliance perspective.

Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory and policy requirements into actionable operational processes and controls.
