Senior Manager of Software Development

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Drive technical evaluation during product development and recommend solutions to mitigate risks and improve delivery outcomes.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle to ensure alignment with business objectives and user needs.
    • Assess existing digital products and propose enhancement strategies to executive leadership.
    • Lead feasibility assessments for software and technology investments.
    • Ensure system integrations comply with functional, security, and regulatory requirements.

    People Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing software engineering teams.
    • Oversee recruitment, talent development, succession planning, and retention initiatives.
    • Establish performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide coaching to team members.
    • Promote engineering best practices, innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
    • Communicate project progress, challenges, and risks effectively to stakeholders.

    Global Team Collaboration

    • Build strong collaboration models between offshore, nearshore, and onshore development teams.
    • Facilitate effective communication, knowledge transfer, and cross-functional teamwork.
    • Foster a unified culture across geographically distributed teams.
    • Drive initiatives that improve collaboration efficiency and organizational alignment.

    Technology & Delivery Management

    • Lead software engineering functions across backend, frontend, AI/ML, and platform teams.
    • Manage multiple large-scale software development programs simultaneously.
    • Ensure timely delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
    • Continuously improve development processes through Agile, DevSecOps, and SDLC best practices.
    • Align business priorities with engineering capacity and resource planning.
    • Establish and enforce engineering governance, quality standards, and operational procedures.
    • Manage departmental budgets, workforce planning, and resource allocation.

    Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Certifications or hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum, SAFe, CMMI, COBIT, or Enterprise Architecture are advantageous.

    Experience

    • 10+ years of experience in software engineering leadership and management.
    • Minimum 5 years managing distributed or offshore development teams.
    • Proven success leading large-scale software development organizations in complex environments.

    Technical Expertise

    • Strong understanding of software architecture, SDLC, quality assurance, and engineering best practices.
    • Hands-on exposure to technologies such as Java, .NET, Python, cloud-native platforms, microservices, containerization, and secure software development.
    • Experience with AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and BI solutions.
    • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and related engineering tools.
    • Experience within civil engineering software domains is a plus.
