Senior Production Manager (Engineering)

Responsibilities and Duties

People & Leadership

• Ensure optimal staffing levels and workforce allocation.
• Lead and develop supervisors, engineers and team leaders.
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive performance management, training and succession planning.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure compliance with EHS standards and local regulations.
• Promote safety-first culture and eliminate operational risks.
• Implement ergonomics and environmental improvements.

Budget & Cost Control

• Co-develop and execute production budgets.
• Manage manufacturing costs and labour efficiency.
• Analyse variances and drive cost-saving initiatives.

Operational Management

• Oversee plastic injection, assembly and metal production.
• Achieve production KPIs (OEE, scrap, downtime, output).
• Implement process improvements and technology updates.

Quality & Customer Focus

• Ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Support audits and corrective actions.
• Maintain material availability to meet customer demand.

Investments & Projects

• Approve resource requirements.
• Support NPD and new technologies.
• Lead or co-lead investment and modernisation projects.

 Lean & Continuous Improvement

• Implement Lean tools: 5S, Kaizen, SMED, TPM.
• Reduce waste and improve productivity.

Inventory, Logistics & Material Flow

• Monitor stock levels.
• Ensure uninterrupted production flow and FIFO discipline.

Other Responsibilities

• Contribute to ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 systems.
• Participate in audits and additional tasks assigned by MD.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years in a similar production management role.
• Experience in plastics, metalworking or assembly.
• Managing large teams (100+ employees).
• Strong production management knowledge.
• ISO 9001 and audit familiarity.
• Investment and ROI understanding.
• Strong EHS and labor law knowledge.
• Leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
