Responsibilities:

Build the Python Foundation: Lead the end-to-end development of the company’s first framework for scalable Python services, including reusable templates and shared libraries.

Establish Production Standards: Embed reliability, observability, and performance best practices directly into core templates and libraries for Python microservices.

Enhance Developer Experience: Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams to collect feedback and deliver intuitive, well-documented tools that address real developer needs.

Drive Practical Solutions: Make thoughtful technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, and business priorities in a fast-moving startup environment.

Prototype and Empower: Contribute to designing and launching an “Internal App Sandbox” platform that supports deployment of data science prototypes.
Requirements:

8+ years of total software development experience, including 5+ years in backend or platform engineering.

Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, production-grade Python backend systems.

Deep understanding of backend architecture, including concurrency models (asyncio), API design (REST/gRPC), and service testing methodologies.

Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD workflows, and production observability (logging, tracing, metrics).

Strong passion for developer tooling and frameworks that enhance engineering productivity. (Familiarity with Go is a plus.)
Preferred:

Experience with AWS-based infrastructure (EKS/Kubernetes, RDS, S3, IAM).

Background working in agile, fast-paced startup environments.
