Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Responsibilities
• Oversee the assembly, erection, and commissioning of WTG electrical systems.
• Develop and qualify alternative suppliers for key components like pitch systems, slip rings, generators, converters, power transformers, and MV switchgear.
• Implement cost-saving measures and support localization efforts.
• Design electrical internals for the tower and establish standards for generator, converter, and transformer components.
2. Technical Responsibilities
• Develop interface documents for WTG electrical systems.
• Lead the design of the WTG Balance of Plant system, including 33KV generator transformers, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety norms and IEC standards in new designs.
• Conduct system and component design reviews, data analysis, and testing.
• Provide support for LVRT, HVRT, and frequency response testing relevant to grid standards.
• Utilize technical tools such as Eplan, PSSE, Matlab, and SAP for design and simulation activities.
• Develop electrical systems, including power cable design, cable sizing, and auxiliary power systems.
• Define component specifications for electrical drive train components such as power cables, generators, and converters.
3. Project Execution
• Provide technical support for SCADA error resolution until turbine stabilization.
• Support vendor assessments and manage relationships with critical suppliers in the wind industry.
• Collaborate with certification agencies for design assessments and approvals.
• Implement new designs and cost optimization programs as per project budgets.
4. Team and Stakeholder Management
• Build and empower the technical team with coaching and guidance.
• Establish strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead the execution of projects with a focus on timely delivery and adherence to safety standards.
• Define a roadmap for bringing new technologies to the WTG system at optimized costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 12-14 years of experience in wind project execution and electrical design.
• Expertise in electrical system design, IEC standards, and grid compliance.
• Proficiency with tools such as Eplan, Matlab, PSSE, and SAP.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on innovation and transformation.
• Ability to manage risk and stakeholder relationships effectively.
