Overview
We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to lead technology selection and architectural design as our services and organization grow rapidly. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building backend systems that prioritize long-term reliability, scalability, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable backend applications with long-term operational sustainability in mind
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features and enhancements
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and security issues
Typical Tasks Include
- Hands-on development, including unit testing and documentation
- Clean, efficient code implementation with adherence to best development practices
- Code reviews and continuous process improvement

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in backend development using statically typed languages
- Experience in architecture design, infrastructure setup, and tech validation for multiple teams or projects
- Familiarity with Docker-native environments
- Fluent English communication skills (CEFR B1 or above)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large, multi-team system design
- Knowledge of domain-driven design, Scrum/Agile methodologies
- Exposure to Rust, Scala, or similar languages
- Understanding of frontend tech like React or Next.js is a plus
- Experience in microservices and security-focused web development
- Japanese proficiency is a bonus
