Uganda Sustainability Manager

    Location: Kampala (Uganda)

    Responsibilities

    • Led the Olam Uganda Limited (OUL) team to achieve Strategic goals in line with Ofi COC (Choices of Change)
    • Enhance OUL footprint in Certified Coffees with full compliance with relevant documentation  
    • EUDR compliance and OFIS farmer data; continuous monitoring & reporting 
    • Ideation of new Sustainability projects partnering with Customers and Donors
    • Leading other initiatives like CLMRS, FLMRS & Donor linked projects
    • Timely reporting of all Sustainability related activities on SEED/OFIS 

    Job Description

    • Supervise the implementation of existing projects with an eye on progress, impact, cost monitoring, and control
    • Implementation of a coffee strategy for Stronger Initiatives in Coordination with the Central Coffee team 
    • Lead the delivery of targets on various projects, their work plans, KPIs, budgets, and outcome
    • Ensure the Sustainability team is well informed, resourced, supported, and coached for efficient delivery of activities
    • Ensure work plans, budgets, and reports are completed and delivered to partners in a timely manner
    • Build relations with donor agencies and sustainability stakeholders in Uganda. 
    • Seek co-investment opportunities from external stakeholders to finance the Olam coffee Lense Strategy in Uganda which includes Proposal writing, budgeting, and implementation work 
    • Support the development of marketing material for internal and external communication
    • Participating in appropriate forums and platforms in Uganda, in coordination with the Country team bringing visibility to sustainable work we do.
    • Support Supply chain certification for RFA, CP, and others in a time-bound manner 
    • Support sourcing of sustainable coffee during harvest time, in traceability and compliance.

    Skills

    • Leadership: to lead a team of 40 to align them to meet OUL objectives
    • Excellent Communication skills to interact with external and internal stakeholders 
    • Innovative Approach: Come up with innovative and implementable ideas to address Supply chain challenges 
    • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Some understanding of Finance and Accounting 

    Language

    • English is a must


    Educational and Experience

    • Minimum, bachelor's degree in sustainability management, agriculture, international development, or similar relevant topics
    • Experience in working on Agriculture related topic with small holder farmers 
    • Working on topic related to coffee growing would be an added advantage
