Factory Manager

About the client: Our client is the Canadian-owned global homeware design and manufacturing company with operations in China, Hong Kong, Canada, USA, South America and Europe. They have an international team of in-house designers and a global network, with our products available in over 120 countries worldwide. Role Overview: The incumbent will help to set up an assembling factory for household products such as drapery rods or kitchen/bathroom accessories. Experiences in metal, plastic and wood products are preferred.  This position directs the daily activities at our manufacturing plant in Vietnam and drives constant efficiency improvements by leading the manufacturing teams in Vietnam to fulfill orders. Responsibilities:  You will ensure all manufactured goods consistently meet our company and our customers’ quality requirements. You will ensure that production of all orders is executed on time, including the delivery of accurate quotes to Sales and Category Management to enable our company to win business.  You will partner with the HR Manager and Asia General Manager on decisions impacting the hiring, discipline, and dismissal of team members.  You will oversee all manufacturing processes that maybe developed in the future such as plastic injection molding, PS extrusion, Glass cutting, and researching and negotiating for sub-contracting processes such as plating and painting. Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or above. Minimum 10 years of experience in production, including 5-7 years of management experience. Proficiency in MS Office and SAP. Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills, including ability to write reports and business correspondence, and present information effectively. Proficient fluency in English and Vietnamese is mandatory. A strong work ethic and a positive attitude with leadership ability to motivate a team and work collaboratively and effectively across all levels of the organization are required. Well-developed organization and priority-setting skills with emphasis on detail and flexibility in a dynamic and busy environment are essential. You work effectively under pressure and can meet tight deadlines. Working Conditions: Work is performed both in the office and on the production floor, with the majority of time spent in a manufacturing environment. There is a low level of risk for accidents involved in this position. This role requires constant communication and coordination with all departments and the international management team. Mental stress is relative to producing accurate work, meeting deadlines and responding to urgent requests.
